About Dr. Larson

Jeffrey J. Larson, M.D. is a board certified neurosurgeon and founder and medical director of Coeur d’Alene Spine and Brain, PLLC (CDA Spine), an independent comprehensive Neurosurgery clinic. Dr. Larson received his undergraduate training at the University of Michigan and a Master of Science Degree in Molecular Genetics at Wayne State University.  He received his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He continued his studies in Cincinnati to complete his surgical internship and neurosurgery residency training at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center and the Mayfield Clinic and Spine Institute. Dr. Larson Specializes in brain surgery, spine surgery, neuro-oncology, neuro trauma and image guided neurosurgery.

In addition to his neurosurgery practice, Dr. Larson has authored over 60 peer reviewed articles, book chapters, abstracts, and presentations. He has won national research awards. Dr. Larson is involved in research and development, and he teaches image guided surgery, robotic surgery and minimally invasive spine surgery techniques. He also holds patents in minimally invasive spine technologies. Dr. Jeffrey J. Larson, M.D. is the inventor and developer of P2P, a pedicle-based minimally invasive spine technology (acquired by Synthes Spine), and a pedicle based spine targeting device (acquired by Stryker Spine). The methods and systems of these inventions are now used worldwide for minimally invasive fusion techniques across the platform of spine surgery.

Dr. Larson is the proud father of two. In his free-time Dr. Larson enjoys snow-skiing, shortline water skiing, trekking, ice hockey, endurance sports, food, and theater.
