Biologic Regenerative Injections

Regenerative Medicine Injection Therapy Program

Harnessing Your Body’s Ability To Heal And Restore

The discs in your spine act as shock absorbers for your body.  Over time and as a normal part of the aging process the discs and other joints in your body may wear out or become degenerative. The pathway to degenerative disc disease or arthritis involves a cycle of biomechanical factors and cellular processes that lead to cell death. This leads to chronic back pain and joint pain.

Fortunately this degenerative process can be addressed naturally.  One of the options Dr. Larson uses to treat this degenerative disc cascade and potentially reverse the painful process is an autologous regenerative injection.  Autologous cells and other regenerative products come from your own fat, bone marrow, or blood.   Dr. Larson use’s sound proven techniques and methods to obtain these cells, proteins, and other natural proliferation factors the day of your regenerative injection and then injects them directly into the injured disc or any injured joint using image guidance.

Biologic Adipose-Derived and Bone Marrow-Derived Regenerative Injections

Traditional lidocaine or steroid injections are effective to temporarily treat the pain.  Now, biologic regenerative injections using Adipose-Derived and Bone Marrow-Derived cells harness the power of biology to help you heal. Dr. Larson injects these regenerative cells into the degenerative discs, facet joints, and other joints to treat the pain caused by the degenerative disc or joint.

Both Adipose-Derived Regenerative Cell injections and Bone Marrow-Derived Regenerative Cell injections are minimally invasive outpatient office procedures where your own autologous cells are harvested, prepared, and then injected into the degenerative disc or joint to potentially restore disc or joint structure and function and reduce the pain.

See video to learn “Why Fat?” how Dr. Larson uses regenerative medicine technologies to treat patients with a variety of musculoskeletal conditions including arthritis, back pain, and joint pain.

PRP

Platelet rich plasma (PRP) is autologous blood plasma with concentrated platelets. Typical concentrations of platelets in PRP are 5-10 times that found in blood. Platelets are small disk-shaped cells within your blood that contain natural sources of growth factors, proteins and cytokines that stimulate the healing of bone and soft tissues.  PRP contains many different growth factors that promote healing. This conglomeration of growth factors provides numerous ways of stimulating cell repair, including anti-inflammatory, cell growth, and immune signaling, and cell recovery.

Biologic Regenerative Injections and PRP injections can be used alone or in combination together to treat injury or degenerative conditions of the shoulders, elbows, wrists, hands, hips, knees, ankles, feet, and spine.  The biologic regenerative injection process then works by promoting your body’s natural healing processes.  The biologic regenerative injections are naturally rich in anti-inflammatory healing factors and growth factors that stimulate tissue healing.  These proteins induce angiogenesis, attract stem cells, and help repair the injured disc or joint.

Dr. Larson will help you determine which injection is right for you.
