The CDA Spine Evaluation Process
CDA Spine is the Northwest’s premier comprehensive spine clinic; covering all of your spine needs including neurosurgery, physiatry, physical therapy, imaging, injections, electrodiagnostic studies, and surgery. New patients are initially evaluated by a board-certified CDA Spine mid-level provider or physician who specializes in spine disorders and who conducts a thorough and comprehensive evaluation before making their testing or care recommendations. These initial recommendations may include X-Ray, MRI, physical therapy, or selective spinal injections, all of which are provided at the CDA Spine clinic.
After patients go through their initial evaluation with our mid-level providers, and proceed with the care recommendations, it is typical to follow up again with one of our mid-level providers or meet directly with Jeffrey J. Larson, M.D. Appointments with Dr. Larson include the discussion of imaging findings and injection results, as well as possible surgical options.
The Imaging Center at CDA Spine has the most open and non-claustrophobic Upright MRI machine available. This specialized open MRI allows for routine MRI as well as dynamic and weight bearing MRI of the neck and low back. The Center also has the newest available digital x-ray equipment with the capability of doing dynamic x-rays, sagittal balance x-rays, and spinal parameter x-rays. Bone density studies are done as a screening test for osteoporosis, as well.
Board certified Neurosurgeon Jeffrey J. Larson, M.D. and board certified Physiatrist Michael Ludwig, M.D. work together at CDA Spine to direct your comprehensive spine care.
Selective spinal injections performed by Dr. Ludwig such as epidural steroids, selective nerve root blocks, and facet blocks are an integral part of non-surgical treatment options at CDA Spine, as they are used for pain management, as well as diagnostic purposes when it comes time for a surgical evaluation with Dr. Larson.
